The Qel'tath of House Nyelandir is a High Elf with a very strong sense of integrity. She places her House before everything, especially herself, and is dedicated to seeing it safe. This doesn't mean she wants Nyelandir's formal influence to grow. Instead, she places her faith in good diplomacy and having strong allies.

Personal history
Samanthis father, Oledhen Nyelandir was the former Qel'tath of the noble house and known as a beacon of hope during the Sunset. This helped ease the fact that he took a Half-Elf as his wife. Between the hero that was her father and her less respected mother Arimela, the preassure on Samanthis balanced out.
Her mother died less than 40 years after Samanthis was born. Her father kept his position until he died in the late 13th century and while he had several different partners, he never remarried. For Samanthis, this meant that she was given a lot of attention to be ready for her position when her father died.
Eventually, she met Faylanthi Nyelandir who was a diplomat for House Redhok at the time. The two of them first got close as a way to create an alliance between the houses, but they eventually fell in love and married. This increased the amount of human blood in Nyelandir's bloodline and their three children clearly show that inheritance.
Intellectual Characteristics
Samanthis can sometimes come off as a bit distant to those who have a positive view of her, and even manipulative to those who don't. Both carry some truth, but at heart, she is simply analysing everyone around her in order to safeguard those she cares about.
