Talgren

Industry & Trade

Talgren's economy was based on its central position within the rest of the archipelago and it's use as a transitional spot for many merchants. Land owners became as rich as kings renting out warehouses to merchants. After its destruction the city became home to a tribe of naucti called the Pondhold from the south. They settled and began new, previously overlooked industries: kelp farming and ship building.

History

It was originally the capital of Ankriech before being moved in its shift into democracy, as the old capital was believed to be a sorry reminder of the past. It remained a bustling trade city / college town with it being home to the zolkmeth institute of magic and a manufactering powerhouse. After its destruction in the second marsolomon war an influx of naucti and cendite immigrants changed the city competely.

Tourism

Talgren once housed the national art museum but was destroyed by in the Attack of Talgren. The museum brought thousands of travelers there every year.

Natural Resources

Of course while trade is wonderful, it can't always support a city forever. The local salt mines have become a bumper economy and one that many people of the lower class are involved in.

Notable people: Tadmor the Exorcist spent many of his final years residing in an old mansion here.
It was the birth place of Holden Harper
One of several places that Rafith Azeol was said to have been his birthplace. Those theories are mostly propaganda though.
