Mimics

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Mimics can up to 50 years, they continuously up until about age 15 when they become the size of a large box, in the wild this would be when they start to eat larger meals while disguising themselves as animal carcasses. Before that however they are more likely to take the shape of some kind of plant.

Ecology and Habitats

orignally mimics were used to very wet environments like caves or rain forests. The domesticated ones are fulling amphibious, evolving that way due to constant use on the sea.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are strictly carnivorous, eating whatever wanders into their mouth. It lies in wait for prey before lashing out with sticky psuedopods and pulling it towards them. In some areas, big enough mimics have become the apex predetor, even taking down the likes of leopards and panthers.   Their slow metabolism allows them to go weeks without eating which allows them to be much better stalkers. Most of their energy is used in transformations.

Domestication

A wild mimic requires hours or even days to change its shape, a domesticated mimic can take only an hour at most. Domesticated mimics need to feed more often as a result, with shifting take most of their energy.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Becoming tools, ships, basically everything except for silverware. Some times, some people use wild mimic fat for candles and lanterns.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

While they are found all over the world (in no small part to their Naucti domestication) Natural Historians believe that they can be found originally on the northern tip of Tolget.

Average Intelligence

Mimics can remember people and their behaviors, including travel patterns which they use to hunt their prey. Their is also speculation of them having a form of primitive language used especially during their first few years.
