Regnum Gloria
Regnum Gloria is the capital city of the Imperium Vulcanalia. It contains the only port from which ships may depart from the Old World to the New World.
The Hill is the important highland portion of Regnum Gloria where the important and the wealthy live under their Emperor. The Emperor himself lives in the center of The Hill, on the volcanic fortress MOUNT IULIUS. The buildings of The Hill are tall and stately palaces made of white stone and marble. Only the extremely wealthy, extremely old families live here on top of the mountain.
FORT IULIUS
Fort Iulius, the once towering volcanic crag that lead the Dwarves to the surface from the Deep Roads, is now little more than a rocky outcrop on a tall hill. Still, the hard granite rock of the fortress, long ago carved by the Dwarves of legend, remain an almost impregnable defense. The outer black rock gives way to a marble and gold heart built towering into the air, from which the entire city can be seen. It is the personal home of the Emperor and his Praetorian Guard. THE ARBORETUM
Part greenhouse, part zoo, the Arboretum is home to anything rare, exotic, and most importantly; beautiful. Things do not come cheap in the Arboretum. COLEGIUM MAGICAE
The home of the court wizards, they are in truth little more than Dwarven academics trying to understand and codify old Avestani and Khayan magic. THE HEDGEROW
The part of the city on the slope of Mount Iulius where the patricians and enobled knights and extremely wealthy merchants live.
The Volcanum Forum at the foot of Mount Iulius is the beating heart of Regnum Gloria. It is home to several establishments, including:
THE BACHANALLIAN
A tavern for the more well to do adventurer or merchant. Not haughty, but not working class either. Often has some kind of live performance going on. THE BATHS OF THE FORGE
A famous bathhouse for the upper class. It is said that the waters boil up from the underworld, heated by Invictus’ own forge. THE CIRCLE LODGE
Built right across from the Colosseum, the Circle Lodge is the beating heart of the Circle of Steel in the Imperium. THE COLOSSEUM OF THE CIRCLE
A large Colosseum built built by the Circle of Steel, people flock from all over the empire to watch the famed shows of gladiatorial prowess and the slaying of monsters from as far away as The New World. THE CURIA DIO
The meeting place for the Senate of Regnum Gloria to hold court. The Emperor himself is often present. THE CURIA VULCAN
The house of the Old Laws, it is the legal center of Regnum Gloria where cases are heard and punishments proclaimed. THE FORUM MAGNUM
The main mercantile hub of Regnum Gloria. Anything and everything can be bought at the Forum Magnum. THE TEMPLE OF INVICTUS
A temple dedicated to Augustus Dio, the famed mythological warrior king of the Dwarves who led his people to the complete conquest of the surface world.
Far below Mount Iulius, there is the Insula. The Insula is the enormous, sprawling portion of the city where the plebians live. Composed of buildings made of wood or simple sandstone, life in the ramshackle Insula can be wild and dangerous.
THE CIRCUS OF BALSA
A large complex complete with a large hippodrome and a small fighting pit where criminals are put to death. It has a large menagerie where the common people may come to view exotic sights.
THE FORUM MINOR
Though it is called the minor forum in comparison to the Forum Magnum, the Forum Minor is actually much larger than its enobled cousin. It has a thriving black market that can procure nearly anything. THE SLAVE PITS
A place of low repute where slaves may be purchased. They are a common lot, and are poorly cared for. THE TEMPLE OF ATTIA
There was never a queen as devoted to her people as Attia, and upon her death it is said she ascended to godhood. She is, by far, the most popular object of worship among the plebs. THE TROBADOR
A bawdy house where adventurers go to meet their like, filled with singers, actors, jugglers, and any other person of low repute a person might want to find.
