Symbifuse Period A.K.A "The Great Unorganism Decline"

Era beginning/end

Year 1,370,000,000
to 1,430,000,000

Many organelle species fuse into single cellular species at a higher rate than any time in Oxidi's history, and many of those that don't organize go extinct.   Late Primordial Eon
----> Late Pseudocellular Era
--------> Symbifuse Period

During this time an unusually high incidence of fusion between symbiotic organelle species combined into individual organisms considered species in their own right was occurring. This was partly due to specialization into long-established symbioses where the lines between species became blurred. Another cause was competitive pressure resulting in a greater need for cooperation for survival, leading to arms races where cellularization and fusion of many species into one was a common line of advancement.   Genetic material became more complex around this time, sometimes incorporating genetic material from many species into one genome. As genomes become longer and more complex, as do gene management mechanisms.   This period ended around the same time the cellular species it produced expanded in range and numbers, and also ends in an extinction event of many non-cooperative organelle species.
