Project Lutose

Project Lutose is a top-secret project carried out by Licentia's science team. Broadly speaking the term refers to the effort to create high-tech full-body armor specially for infected, while offering incredible camouflage capabilities. However, the term can also be used to refer to any particular outfit created as part of the project.
Jang-mi Kang the Elder and Rosemary D'arcy the Elder broke into Dibana to steal two suits from this project. While injured in the process, they did escape with what they came for and they are now in possession of these prototypes.

Manufacturing

Project Lutose is made of a compound similar to dragon silk, which is harvested from genetically engineered silkworms. Because it takes a lot of silkworms to create any useful quantity of dragon silk, this process is not really scalable and only a handful of prototypes have been made.

Inventor(s)

While Saoirse "Zero" D'arcy identified the head being the weak point for infected and the need for new helmets to greatly increase their chances on the battlefield, she had no direct role in the project beyond pushing Licentia's sponsors to fund it and checking its process every so often. The team who developed it is acknowledged and highly respected internally, but their identities are not widely known outside of Licentia's science team due to attempts to keep the project itself under wraps.
