Na'rkwo (Nah' r-KWOH)

The na'rkwo was an ancient and traditional sword from Lexicon forged from Lexiconian Steel steel, or narsil. Comprised of a single-edged blade with a hilt, the na'kwo was a somewhat weighty, despite being forged out of narsil, and incredibly resilient weapon, capable of delivering powerful blows with each swing. Made to destroy and wear down an enemy's defenses, it was a somewhat more easy, yet deadly weapon to master, but was overshadowed by the kalivtkhatraik as it was considered rather long, cumbersome, and heavier than the portable and versatible kalivtkhatraik, even though it is still commonly used.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Na'rkwoco were traditionally single-edged, straight swords, featuring a hilt with a protective crossguard and pommel. Typically possessed of a flat blade, a na'kwo weighed approximately 2.7 kilograms or more in total, depite it being forged from lightweight narsil. Na'rkwoco could be made of steel, but were more commonly and traditionly forged from narsil, a nearly indestructible and lightweight ore found only on the planet Lexicon.   Due to the weight of a na'rkwo, wielding it traditionally required a double-handed grip. Non-Lexiconians often struggle just holding the weapon. Thanks to the weight, na'rkwoco were used to batter through enemies' defenses by using the heftiness of the blade to overcome an opponent. A heavy swing from a na'kwo was capable of embedding the blade in both armor and bone, and due to the razor sharpness of the single blade and the fact it was traditonally forged out of narsil, which was one of the very few things that can draw blood from a Lexiconian and pierce Lexiconian skin even if they were charged as well deflect and redirect blaster bolts and energy weapons, could easily slice through virtually anything without much effort so you had to watch where you swung for you could very easily cause a major injury accidentally.   The heavier weapon was also extremely deadly in the hands of a very trained user. Especially if the wielder was a charged Lexiconian, where they would have almost no equal to match them and a massive force to be reckoned with.

Manufacturing process

To create a na'rkwo, the naturally lightweight narsil that used to forge the blade would be heated until it glowed red-hot, and shaped into a workable bar. Lexiconian metalsmiths and forgers would then strike and repeatedly fold narsil— an extremely hard feat to do as narsil is extremely tedious to forge and shape unless you knew its secrets which was heavily guarded — with a hammer and tongs, layering the material again and again for increased strength, before finally cooling the finished blade in liquid; the rough sword edge would later be honed to a razor sharpness. The hilt would be forged out of narsil as well.   To provide a better grip to the weapon, Lexiconians wrapped strips of leather to the metal hilt, and they are usually embossed with the owner's Vhara emblem.

Significance

The na'rkwo was also enshrined in legend and folktales as Orin, the legendary sword of Tyv Waad-Tan, who earned it by defeating a person in battle. Waad-Tan's blade was engraved with Lehkcia phrases on opposite sides: "Take me up" and "Cast me away".   Lexiconians hilariously called it 'the battering ram' and 'the most elegant yet deadly club in the galaxy'.   Despite this, the na'rkwo is considered cumbersome and heavier, and thus is overshadowed by the legendary kalivtkhatraik, but still is widely used.
