Apêrah Gehel
The Unexpected Successor
Lady of Gehel Keep Apêrah Gehel
Apêrah is a delight to visit. The refurbished halls of our venerable keep are now filled with the life and laughter of her children. All the noise doesn’t leave me with a lot of opportunities for contemplation and reading, but that’s what my library back home is for.
Gehel Restoration
These ancient stones may remind us of a man who once held us in contempt, but now they stand as symbols of opportunity. This is our moment—to claim them as our own and lay the foundation for a brighter, better futureUnder the reign of Apêrah's father, Valder, the ancestral holding of the House of Gehel had fallen into a level of severe disrepair. Both she and her brother suffered greatly under his tyrannical grip as the man was keen on demanding perfection, despite his own lack of competency. The old lord's premature death had come as a relief to everyone in the family and Apêrah was hopeful that their fortunes would soon improve in the gentle and capable hands of her brother, Elîvihel, yet he had rejected his claim, passing the land to Apêrah instead.
Advantageous Proposal
Following the coronation of Queen Tiyla the Blessed, Apêrah gained access to the newly established royal court in Aûrkustel, a place she would frequent often. There, in those distinguished halls, among crowds of courtiers and servants, she eventually found a man named Lorich Rîvalich. This peculiar entrepreneur from Eberstêi had come in search of profitable deals, but what he had instead found was the woman of his dreams. Not only did the two match perfectly in terms of their wit and character, but Lorich had also always dreamed of greater things—if not for himself, then his descendants—and what could have been greater than becoming part of the aristocracy. It didn't take long for the two to arrange a marriage, and the wealth that Lorich had accumulated proved vital for the restoration of Gehel Keep.Family Legacy
Apêrah craved a large family, one which could be brought up with love and kindness instead of the cruelty that her father had wrought upon his kin. The first of their many children was a daughter who she named Tiela, the Hartilian form of her queen's name. After their first ray of sunshine came Elîvihel—a boy named after Apêrah's dear brother—and Âldal. Her sons had been a rowdy bunch, taking much of her time and attention, but after a while she tamed the wildness in them and decided to have one last child, another son by the name of Ôlperich. Elîvihel, being the eldest male, would go on to inherit the keep and the lands that Apêrah had dedicated her life to restoring, yet the holding wouldn’t remain in the hands of his descendants forever. Ôlperich’s descendants were not content being left with nothing and therefore exploited the chaos of the Interregnum of Pallernen to strike at their own kin, pressing their ancient claim on Gehel Keep. What followed was a tragic slaughter that ultimately undid all that Apêrah had sought to accomplish, bringing her house to ruin.Relationships

Aww, I was so happy and proud of her, and then you ruined it with the end. I'm glad, at least, that she did not live to see her grandchildren destroy what she had built. :( :(

I know, how cruel of me, playing with people's feelings like that :c But if everyone got a nice happy ending all the time then where would be the fun in that. Plus I'd have way too many characters, families and other important organisations then. Sometimes they require pruning so there's room for new stuff :)
