Weak man's bane (or Rajul fasid daeif)

Well known to the royal familly of Nahamira, as it is the condition that lead to the death of Al'Malika's mother. There is rumors that it is a family bane/malediction and that only those who prove strong of mind are able to survive it, but the malediction may hit stronger on the next generation.   What could be today considered as a genetic immuno-deficient disease was known in all of manhood as a terriffic malediction brought upon famillies forever.

Transmission & Vectors

It is transmitted by the genes, from a parent to another. Daughters have higher chances of it being transmitted to them, thus enforcing misogyny in Gaisgaich, where the disease is most common.

Causes

It is a malfunction in the creation of immune cells, the body does not produce enough of it due to a genetic mutation.

Symptoms

This disease leaves the sick with little to no defense agaist infections and commonly found sicknesses. In Nahamira, where respiratory infectious bacteria and viruses are less common than on Forgloir, deaths occure mainly by infections, gangrene and the such. As previously said, respiratory infectious micro-organisms are more common and developp better in Forgloir's more tempered climate, thus the number of persons with weak man's bane dying of such is far superior, lightly more than infections on the continent.   The first symptom is usually the death itself: If someone dies of a usually benign infection if cough, doctors said that that was the Weak man's bane, and they were mostly right. Someone surviving but developping harsh and life-threatening sickness and infections throughout their lives will then be diagnosed, also with mostly right diagnosis.

Prognosis

Most of the time, it is fatal, whatever conditions developped (sickness or infection).

Cultural Reception

It is largely seen (especially in Gaigaich) as a malediction from the gods, that keeps goins on the familly. In Gaisgain folklore, if you have the disease, it means that one of your ancestors tried to become stronger and more powerfull than the gods themselves, so they brought that ancestor down and his entire legacy with them as punishement.
