Queenlands Superpower

The Queenslands Superpower was a proposed mega-nation uniting the five Vulgar-speaking countries together. Proposed at the turn of the 15th century, those involved were reluctant to sign on to it due to conflicting ideologies and simmering tensions. It was only after the Great War that the idea of uniting gained enough traction to become reality.

Structure

While talks were underway to decide the governmental structure going forward, the heads of state of each of the five member nations would head a council to debate federal policies. At the time, this included the Margravine of Cammesbourg, the Queens of Musson and Voldôtia, the Superintendent of Abreuvoir, and the Prime Minister of L'Orsane. They were encouraged to attend meetings, although most elected to send delegates to speak on their behalf.   The plan was to eventually form an elected senate and Prime Minister that would dictate laws and regulations for the greater Superpower while leaving the individual territories as semi-autonomous provinces.

History

The Second Supplician War saw the first widespread use of Fleischkraft weaponry against human combatants. Soon after, the Global Protection Alliance called for discussions regarding their use and ratifying rules that would dictate what restrictions would be put in place in a possible conflict. The Voldôtian port city of Paesana was set to be the meeting place, and various members of the Alliance would attend, including neighboring Musson and Cammesbourg.   It was during this that Voldôtian Crown Princess Leandra de Jany invited delegates from Musson and Cammesbourg to a separate meeting in the city regarding a possible trade and military alliance. It would take less than a year after this for the agreement to be ratified, adding the originally-skeptical L’Orsane Republic to its membership. The last country, Abreuvoir, wouldn’t join until 1363, as tensions between it and neighboring Musson had cooled down.   The Eastern States Agreement, as the alliance would be called, proved to be beneficial, especially for Abreuvoir, whose failing economy was saved by the increase in exports. However, the true intent of the Agreement was soon revealed when Leandra, now the Queen of Voldôtia, pitched the idea of going further and uniting the members into one geopolitical area. It sounded promising on paper; by joining together, this new nation would have the economic power to challenge the heavy hitters, including historical rivals Glatz and Cinzagus.
