In order to conduct trade safely in waters filled with pirates, one must conduct their business quickly. A quicker rout always exists. One only needs to find it.
With the rise of the brimbarian pirates, came struggles with trade, especially for the dwarven nation of Midor. Theorium was life for dwarven society. They needed to find a solution, and fast. At first they thought to increase price, and trade with the northern nations being Heodar, and the Halfling north. Both refused to receive, and pay more than they already were. Midor was growing desperate, they even tried trading with the orcs. The orc economy was purely labor based, and did not use a currency of any sort. This did not help the dwarven trade. Eventually, a draconin sailor named Clarin Belgwen, on her ship, the Redemption had an idea that many considered suicide. She would sail through Dares Pass. While it was difficult to be sure, she did make it to Midor. The currents carried her through the pass literally over night. Not a single pirate's flag was seen. She returned to Fafnia, and taught traders how to sail the pass. Soon, other nations would rent ships from Fafnia, and hire them to sail through the strait. Dares Pass would serve as a vital trade rout for centuries to come.
