Sir Jory mab Branoc

Sir Jory is the second son of Sir Branoc the Sailor. It was never in the cards for Jory to become knighted like his older brother, but Ninian got a load of money, enough for him to sponsor his younger brother.   Ever since, Jory has been eager to prove himself as a knight, trying to be the best support his brother could hope for, while also upholding his father's memory.   Not as unknown as they might have preferred it, Jory has been secretly in love with Lady Efa, the heiress to the immense estate of Floodriver, a love that both of them know is impossible. When he was suspected of having someone else, she told him to flee from her sight, and the maddened Sir Jory ran into the woods, having not returned.   After many years abroad, in 504, Jory returned to Britain, and declared his love for Lady Efa, even renoucing the spurs of a knight to be able to wed her. The assembled knights of Salisbury did not oppose the marriage. The following year, Jory was grievously wounded at the Battle of Royston.
At Netley Marsh, he managed to return his brother's fallen body to Salisbury.
