Duke Corneus wards the northern part of Logres from Saxons and the wicked King of Malahaut.
Sir Corneus is an ambitious warlord, proud of his courage and prowess, unafraid of anything alive except King Uther. His bard calls him “Hammer of the Church,” a title conferred by the northern British Christian church. Not particularly loyal, his reluctance to support Uther fully earned him the nickname "The Defiant Duke". As one of the last surviving members of the Supreme Collegium, he feels more entitled to respect than ever before.
He even claimed that he should be crowned King of Logres during the first meeting, claiming his heirtage as the descendant of the Coritani Kings gave him a far better claim for the throne of Logres that the outsider Ulfius would have.

Personal history

Born as the son of the Coritani cheiftain, Corneus was born in a time where Cumbrians, Caledonians and Picts were pouring in across the northern borders, pillaging and raiding as they pleased.
Corneus was named for the old hero, being the hope for his tribe, and when his father was killed at the Night of Long Knives, it fell to Corneus to lead the Coritani from their marsh refuge to glory alongside Aurelius Ambrosius. And he won enough Glory to be named as the Duke of the North, the protector of Linden and the lands around it, a task that he was greatly pleased with. He never truly got along with King Uther, and did not weep for his king's death.
However, Corneus have since been one of the primary claimants of leadership in Logres, giving himself importance through his stubborn refusal to follow anyone but his own whims. The Sorestan Saxons are a sore topic for him, as the mother of his older sons is a Sorestani, but the Sorestan Saxons have decided to follow their cousins from the Continent, and Corneus have little tolerance for traitors. This have left him without any sons but Derfel.

• Defeated Paschent at the Battle of Carrick.
• Slew many foes at the Battle of Menevia.
• Outmatched King Gillomanius's Marshal on the field.
• Chased out the Bishop of Huntington from his lands.
• Seized the Roman Church's lands and gave them to the Abbot of Thorns.
• Rode with Uther to Bedegraine.
• Defeated the Malahautians at the Crossing of the Humber in 482.
• Fought at Eburacum without having his own forces decimated.
• Fought the Saxons of Nohaut and Deira in 494, delaying them for a year.
