Thilladuhr
A hold renown for its cultural exports, every wall of its interior covered in gold by it's founding guardian, Thilladuhr.
Originally the lair of the golden dragon Thilladuhr, it would eventually come to grow into one of Egren's holds, its architecture a unique mix of dwarven and draconic designs.
The city prospered for many millenia(?), until a mysterious sickness would befall Thilladuhr, eventually succumbing to it.
Not long after, the hold would be abandoned and sealed as its inhabitants scattered across Egren.
Hundreds of years later, the hold would be reclaimed by Thilladuhr's only surviving offspring Ancalagon, many of its surviving inhabitants and their descendants soon following.
Again a beacon of culture and art in Egren, the hold prospers as it now acts as the lair for the only remaining dragon, taking great steps to act as its new guardian. Thilladuhr's vault is closely guarded, and not much is known beyond it being the final resting place of Thilladuhr herself.
As time went on, the mushrooms would display increasing intelligence, and eventually sentience, as the choice was made to let the occasional Myconid wander around the city as another part of the citizenry.
Even then, the paranoid nature of its guardian and the "meticulous" searches by the Sauriv at the gates has meant that not everyone gets in.
As such, a "shanty town" of primarily dragonborn has come to develop outside of Thilladuhr's gates, waiting for their turn to get in, or just making a new life for themselves.

Recent events:
Myconids
As the hold was reclaimed, after being sealed for almost a thousand years, a house filled with mushrooms and spores were found, and quickly quarantined. As time went on, the mushrooms would display increasing intelligence, and eventually sentience, as the choice was made to let the occasional Myconid wander around the city as another part of the citizenry.
Kobold caverns
It eventually became evident that a large portion of the original Kobold population was still alive, having remained far below Thilladuhr as the city was sealed. Egg was tasked with searching out this population, eventually reaching them and inviting them to join the city, after hearing about the return of dragons, they were eager to return, giving Thilladuhr a large Kobold population.D're civil war
As the D're civil war rages on, Morn Daral having closed their doors for the refugees, Thilladuhr came to be known as a location that would accept more than the other holds, the ancient hold having a lot of empty space after being abandoned for so long.Even then, the paranoid nature of its guardian and the "meticulous" searches by the Sauriv at the gates has meant that not everyone gets in.
As such, a "shanty town" of primarily dragonborn has come to develop outside of Thilladuhr's gates, waiting for their turn to get in, or just making a new life for themselves.
