Demons and Their Hunters

A large tome containing a wealth of information on Demons. The book is bound with dark red leather, which feels almost unholy to touch.

Inside you find a chapter that describes an old, old tale. A tale pre-dating Legalaia. There are demons named Rostraarch who were incredibly weak, so they lived their pitiful existence on the fringes of the old societies. In an effort to survive and become stronger, a Rostraarch would latch onto the mind of anything stronger than it in order to survive.

The host would be unaware of the presence but would suffer psychotic symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, and vivid hallucinations of a dark nature. A Rostraarch would be able to feed off a host for decades before the host was no longer able to sustain the parasitic demon. At which point the host would eventually succumb to insanity.

The last recorded presence of a Rostraarch was 102 UR. The descendants of the Pevau clan, a clan of demon hunters, recorded extracting a Rostraarch from a young man named Luvon Abistella, near the town of Aylauck.
