Dar

The Dar were considered a low race due to their inability to wield the spheres. The Dar were a subterranean race of short stature and covered entirely in hair. Although the Dar could not wield any sphere magic they were also completely immune to it. Also, sphere users of the other races who were near a member of the Dar race would find it extremely difficult to use their own powers. When near many of the Dar race, even a Sphere Master would find it impossible to access their powers. The Dar also had their own magic known as Rune magic. The Dar were also the only race able to forge Rune-items, which were items sphere users could ‘plant’ sphere powers into. An example of this would be the Runeblade of Flame, a longsword that can ignite itself in fire should the wielder say ignite, even if the wielder can not use any magic themselves. Unfortunately, no new Rune-items have been crafted since the extinction of the Dar race. Also once a Rune-item has a spell placed in it, it cannot be changed. The Dar were a peaceful race, but during the Age of the Vork, the Vork Empire feared them for their power. The Vork eradicated the Dar race, with only a few surviving, with no hope of saving their race. It is said the last Dar was one of the “Eight”, named Greggory Nori, also known as “The Last”.
