The Mountains of Moati

The Moati mountains are a set of hovering mountains found only in the region of King's Krona, found only on the province of Delwic, these structures hover miles above the surface and gently move eastward towards the Ocean of Embers and return on the opposite side of the continent a few years later. After a large storm is common to spot rogue mountains that have drifted from the main flow, but while many eventually rejoin the path, some that pass by the City of Brrec in Delwic, are grapple and drag down for mining and research.
The Mountains have over the centuries carved their path leaving very few tall mountains in the heart of King's Krona, the most affected region been the Stone Waste, an area of Delwic where the mountains hover a few feet of the ground making it impossible to settle; legend has it these mountains carved valley between the Shold Peaks and the Kirves Terra Mountains.
The Origin of these mountains are a mystery, but folktales have survived that tell of an enigmatic figure called Moati, that tried to protect his mountain home from a Dwarf king by having hundred of Butterflies carry the mountain away, this story serves as a potential origin for the mountains' name.

There was once a fellow name Moati, how life high in his mountain home.
One day he woke to find the dwarven king's face carved from his mountain's stone.
Worry for his mountain he asks the kings of man to move his home,
but the kings of a man like the mountain where it was for its shelter them from the cold winds of the north.
Quickly he asks the elven kings the same,
but they like the mountain where it was for it was the source of the waters that they used bathed.
Hopelessly he asks the many critters of the forest for aid,
and one by one they fleed for they fear the kings and their blades,
but there was one critter left, a pebble size worm that offers his aid, and all he ask was leaves in return.
So Moati gathered all the leaves he could see and offer them to the worm,
but the rock side worm asked for more.
So Moati gather whole trees and offer them to the worm,
but the hill size worm simply asked for a more.
So Moati ripped the grass from the earth and offer it to the worm,
and the mountain size worm thanked him and ask him to forgive him for he could move no more.
Sadden Moati ask why he had tricked him,
And the worm assure him he would be grateful of all the food the brought,
and as the worm took one last breath his body ripped open as hundreds of butterfly took flight,
each grabbing Moati's mountain home and carry it to the sky.
