Incredients relativly simple to come by on mass scale and magic required to activate produces emerald seeking acids which orbit and erode a path between application point and gems.

Social Impact

Internal damage to in mountainous structures causes accelerated natural erosion.
By-products also produce toxic run-off which leaks into water table and damages flora/fauna in wide areas.
