Lafira

Lafira is a planet and the only astronomical object known to harbor life. According to the Elven Mythology, Lafira was formed over 40.000 years, however, according to radiometric dating estimation, Lafira was formed over 2 billion years ago. Lafira's gravity interacts with other objects in space, especially the Sun and the Moon. Lafira orbits around the Sun in 300 solar days, which is considered one year. Lafira's Moon orbits around Lafira in 30 solar days, the period of one month.

Etymology

The name Lafira developed from the Haapilujaan words 'la', meaning first or only, and 'fira', meaning world or planet.

Calender

The current calender of Lafira has been developed by the Elven and is considered as the oldest calendar. One calendar year contains 300 days, the amount of time the planet needs to orbit around the sun. These 300 days are equally split into 10 sections or months, resulting in 30 days a month, the amount of time the moon needs to orbit around the planet. Each month is divided into 5 weeks of 6 days. This has been done to worship the Elven gods that created the world and the universe.

The current notation system for the world's calendar used mainly Af.L and Be.L. Before Liberation (Be.L) is used for years before the Liberation Era. Therefore it's counterpart After Liberation is used for years after the War Era. Sometimes years are noted with the direct era abbrevation. Hence, 1 SE (Settlement Era) is equal to 12.500 Be.L.
