Oerah Volcanoes
The Oerah Volcanoes are the name given by the dwarves for the volcanic north Zerion Mountains. They are the main home of the Dwarven people and contain many mines, active lava flows, and heat too much for most people. Among other things the Oerah Volcanoes are home to the Mirdàhge Mine , the city of Ironheart, and the gargantuan Molten pit complex.
Geography
The Oerah volcanoes are the name for the volcanic part of the north Zerion Mountains and follow a similar pattern to the rest of the north Zerion Mountains. They are not as tall as the west, south, or even some of the north western Zerion Mountains but still rise quite high. The volcanoes are not particularly steep compared to other mountains and are covered in conifer and pine trees which make up a large boreal forest. Not all the volcanoes are active but the ones that are emit large amounts of smoke from their craters. A large river wraps around the base of the Oerah volcanoes.
Fauna & Flora
The flora of the volcanoes consists of many pine and conifer trees as well as small shrubs, bushes, and ferns. Bucks, bears, wolves, foxes, and snow hares roam the large area. Animals which live on the Oerah volcanoes develop thick fur to deal with the harsh winters of the mountain side. Some prey, like snow hares, develop white fur as well in the winter to camouflage with all of the expansive white snow.
Natural Resources
The Oerah volcanoes are rich in metals which lie deep within The Molten pits inside of the volcanoes. The Mirdàhge Mines are one of the most profitable mine complexes on Laeriss, they are located at the base of the Oerah volcanoes and are rich with metals and fossil fuels. Many animals which live on the volcanoes provide valuable furs not found in many other places which can be sold to make quite a good sum of money. The tall trees of the volcanoes are also harvested for a good amount of lumber to be sold all across Laeriss.
