Maerel

Maerel is the second moon of Laeriss created after The Solstice of Shadows. When the split happened huge amounts of debris fell from the land, ocean, and glaciers and was shredded by the core to be flung into space. Maerel is a small moon which was created by the coalescing debris, though it is not very large it was adopted as a symbol by the god of magic, the unknown, and the arcane, Mourl. Followers of Mourl say that when Maerel is out they feel more powerful and connected to their goddess. Clerics of the magic goddess often preform healing rituals or spells when Maerel is out as a way of increasing the power of their magic, paladins also say that they become empowered when they can see the purple light of Maerel.

Geography

Maerel is a small moon which orbits around Laeriss, it is mostly made out of ice and dust and has a very weak gravitational pull. Maerel has very little effect on the waters of Laeriss and it is extremely easy to dig through it. Because that The World Core (Energy field) infused the particles of Maerel and it is blessed by Mourl it glows purple and emits a haze of dust and magic. The surface of Maerel is smooth like a desert and lacking any craters, any slight disturbance of the surface creates a wave of dust and cloud of microscopic sand. This sand is extremely small and dangerous to touch or especially to breath, when it makes contact with skin it creates millions of tiny cuts all over your body.

Natural Resources

The moon of Maerel is made entirely out of completely useless microscopic dust and ice particles. This dust is extremely dangerous and completely unusable in any manufacturing of goods, unless somehow it could be reconstructed into another more useful material. Though any follower of Mourl would surely pay thousands of gold for a pouch of the purple dust. Though whether or not the sands of Maerel are useful isn't particularly relevant since no technology or powerful enough spellcaster currently exists on Laeriss to allow for travel to Maerel anyways.
