The Second Point, or FeatherWet

A warm land of expansive grass plains on the higher parts of the land, and dense tropical forests spanning the point. much of the coastline boarders on sea level, and many salt and fresh water swamps are found here. A very high biodiversity ranging from carnivorous plants and giant insects to the native Treak dwelling deep within the forests where others fear to tread.

Geography

what could be referred to as a relatively low lying section of land, warm tropical forests cover a large part of this point. A few mid sized mountain ranges can be found, but most are barely high enough to stop the deciduous trees thriving there. Towards the ocean the land becomes bogged down, but further inland and in dryer spots, grasses flourish where the water loving forests refuse to grow.

Fauna & Flora

With great forests comes great biodiversity, and here this can be seen like no-where else. the food web intertwines in many complex ways, and only a small percentage have been catalogued efficiently. knowledge comes mainly from tired explorers, and the Treak that live in the forests; however the tribes have so many stories and legends that it is almost impossible to distinguish truth from tale.

Natural Resources

Though the forests are immense and the trees tall, there is little in the way of usable wood as can be found on other points. This is due to the nature of the trees being largely fast growing - the lower trunks are made of rotting wood held up by neighbouring trees and smaller plants that wind through the inner trunk. unlike short trees, these have their living cells on the outside, and the cells are strongest alive. Higher up younger branches contain a pithy core that is not good for building or burning.   The boggy ground contains peat that can be used as fuel, but the land is a mishmash of soft and hard earths that make it difficult to find a reliable source for any length of time. the harder ground tends to be found beneath the grasslands, and contains more solid metamorphic rock.   The grasslands themselves are fertile and used for both crops and farmed animals, presenting a strong foundation of resources for the folks living their.
