Alcyptra

Alcyptra (veil of light) is a circumpolar constellation (never sets below the horizon) composed of 8 of the most prominent stars in the heavens, one for each of the Monarchs (Light, Water, Air, Earth, Fire, Steel, Adamantine, and Gemstone.) The constellation forms the outline of a shield maiden, said to be the fading memory of the Light Monarch's sacrifice.

Alcyptra contains the brightest star in the night sky, Heliandor (her gift). The stable position of Heliandor lies less than 1° away from the northern pole, making it useful for navigation on cloudless nights.
