Caribou Pass

Caribou Pass is a region of woodland located in the north west of Kryalon. This is the densest area of forest in the tundra, and forms a boundary to the tundra with the Frostbane Ridge, which partly extends into the forest. This means that the terrain has an incline, which can be unforgiving in places.
The flora living in the pass are very hardy; they need to take the brunt of the winter snow. As such, the trees are mainly spruce, pine, and fir, and other plants are much more scarce. Common fauna includes foxes, rabbits, wolves, bears, and caribou, but many other elusive species make this region of the tundra their home due to the relative abundance of food here.
Like the rest of the tundra, the weather here is much colder than the rest of Kryalon, but the trees can provide much needed shelter from the biting northerly winds.
