"Not a soul was left. I can still hear the women screaming, crying out as they were lead away. If their god was as merciful as they claim, would that he had killed them instead." -Anonymous, Against the Pagans, Presbyter Gaius Tuscany

The Church adopted a policy of avoiding Mar'Ankar, and focused their efforts instead on proselytizing the other cultists on the mainland of Samayaris.   Seeing the spread of a religion they perceived as corrupt and weak, however, the cultists at Mar'Ankar pledged to chase the Church out of Samayaris. On the night of 29 Makariou, the anniversary of the slaughter of Priests and Ministers at Mar'Ankar, the cutlists raided the small camp known as St. Bren (not to be confused with the modern city of St. Bren, now named after this event).   Cultists slaughtered 73 priests and 112 ministers in the camp. They lead an additional 237 women off, who were never seen again. This marked the beginning of many attacks on helpless church members and the cultists who supported them.
