Military action
"We lost a good soldier this day. The cost of victory is high, but the cost of defeat, as Jar'Ala knew well, is even higher." -Aurelius Tuscany
Church forces lead by Jar'Ala arrive outside of Jaiju on the 17th of Magus. About 10 miles outside of the city, the Church forces are met by a blockade. Cultic forces from Jaiju had built a massive trench and fortification circumventing the entire city. Church and Cultic forces clashed at the trench and fortifications for seven months. Estimates put the cultist death toll at 42,000 and the Church death toll at 7,500. With 12,000 men remaining, Jar'Ala was finally able to overrun the fortifications and march his army onward to the city. Most of the cultist forces had perished defending the trench, and Jar'Ala arrived at Jaiju to find a meager army of 600 men left to defend the city. Confident in his armie's ability to take the city, Jar'Ala marched his men right up to the city gates with a battering ram. They were inside the city in a matter of minutes, and Church forces quickly dispatched of the remaining cultist forces, forcing the leaders of Jaiju to surrender. Unfortunately, while trying to break through the gates, Jar'Ala was struck by a stray arrow in the neck. He died on the 26th of Theandrar, 470 3e, Jar'Ala passed away. His men renamed Jaiju to St. Jar'Ala in his honor.
