Li Shin

The Li Shin are a human subrace that originated in the south regin of the now great dessert. Their have somewhat oriental features and have migrated towards Luania and the trade route cities. Originaly they inhabited the south hills and advanced by building many small viladges near lakes and rivers. However the great Drowghts led those viladges to extiction but this practise is still characeristic of their kind and they can be found in similar comunities build in larger cities.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The Li Shin consider themselves as children of dragons. They respect draconic creatures and dragornborns and similar races would fit in and be accepted in high possitions. Thier hole architecture is build to resemble dragon scales and so is their armors. They also train in war with techniques that are ispired by dragons and their movement. This has led to the Li Shin to be considered the most fearsome warriors, famous for their overworldy dissipline and accuracy.     Although very social they are not accustomed to large comunities and they usualy speak in a low tone. They are very apreciative of items slick surface such as polished wood, silk, steel, worked stone and items crafted of such matterials. They are not that famus for their crafting skills but mostly for their aesthetics and their abbility to improve common creations with their idea of "Perfect". This can be observed in the trade route cities that many creaftmen and merchants colaborate with them to produce more deadly weapons and more exquisite items.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Their most famus tradition is the Dragon accending wich is the test/celebreation of a warrior taking the "Dragoon" title. The warriors test (usualy close to 25 years of age) is mostly of symbolic character. There is a large pile of wood and hay and the warrior must climb it while wearing the ceremonial armor. When he succeds he must manage to use his inner energy, a racial feature of the Lis Shin, to summon fire and burn it while he stands there. The Ceremony doesen't test and battle skills as the war masters olny let the ready students to take it. However it is not trivialy easy and many Li Shin warriors have not managed to keep their own fire away from them and have been injured in it. After someone passes that test he/she is one of the Li Shin Dragoon Elite warriors and is considered bleseed by the dragons. The title is not very common and usualy in small viladges there will by only one or at most two protecting and training new.

The South Dragon and the Li Shin

The Li Shin original teritory was close to the South Dragon's Lair. The South Dragon (also known as Kung Xion-Ghi the bronze) was an ancient creature that was sometimes observed roaming the night skies of near the mountains. In the early years of the existence of the Li Shin people he protected them from other races of the area and that lead to them worshiping him as a god.     Some years after Volco decented to the world Kung Xion-Ghi anounced that he had a dept to pay and left his lair. He was never seen again and was considered dead. The Li Shin grieved for his passing and as the dessert started taking over their land they started migrating to more friendly lands, burnened with the lost of their God, devastated and dishonored.
