Orphan Sea

The Orphan Sea is an enormous fresh water lake in south western Niru. It's eastern edge abuts against the massive escarpment known as the Tigwea Cliffs, which delimits the eastern edge of the Humbasi Highlands. The southern and southwestern shores are covered in savanna. The northern end is bordered by the Rokari Desert. The lake is fed primarily by waterfalls from the Humbasi Highlands.   Wáládji is the northernmost city of the region. It sits on the lake's northern shore. It is surrounded by a network of irrigation canals from the lake which feed a sprawling array of farms and villages. The city is a major trade hub and a caravan route travels north from the city to the Trans-Rokari Trade Route. The city's port also welcomes trade ships from around the Orphaned Sea.   Kuza is the principle city of Náfa, one of the oldest human kingdoms. Located in the Rana Mountains, it was the first part of the Orphan Sea region to develop state level society after the Ordering of the World. It exerts considerable influence over the region despite being located at its periphery. Iron is the primary export, and the smiths of the city are famous for their skills. Kuza is located near the headwaters of the Meşikin river, which cascades through the terraced city in five different waterfalls on its way north to the Orphan Sea.
