Old Magic

Old Magic, more properly called the Druidic Arts, is not actually the oldest form of magic--Invocation, for example, predates the creation of Koru. The name Old Magic came about due to its change in status. In the first age, Old Magic was one of the most common form of magic, being practiced widely by all cultures. After the Ordering of the World, however, it was replaced in most societies by the priests of the Korsamu. The few remaining druids were mostly found in remote, "uncivilized" regions. Now, with the Pantheon sundered and civilization in decline, Old Magic has been seeing a revival.   Practitioners of the Druidic Arts, or druids, learn mystic rituals through communing with nature. These rituals are performed around a tree or other locus of pure, primal An. Druids can use this energy to heal their friends, curse their enemies, perceive the past, present, or future, and perform truly miraculous feats such as regrowing lost limbs, creating new life, and guiding souls in their transmigration. Many of these arts were proscribed by the Korsamu, giving their priests a monopoly on such power within civilized regions. Unlike Sorcery, Old Magic does not rip Na from is source. It taps into the primal currents of Na running through Koru. While this allows its druids to access considerable power without the dangers concomitant to sorcery, the power can only be accessed at specific locations, reducing the art's utility.
