Fated

Are you Fated?

In the world of Konran, "The Fated" are individuals believed to be destined for extraordinary events, chosen by the gods or influenced by powerful cosmic forces. They possess unique and exceptional abilities tied to the domains of the gods they are associated with. Often, "The Fated" are player characters in the game, and their destiny is revealed at the session zero or during pre-game discussions. Players are welcomed to play in the world for a game or two before "declaring" their primary deity, usually associated with divine classes.

"Greetings Traveler", you hear a whisper in your ear
"Greetings, traveler"

The voice softly whispered, resonating with a soothing calmness as you find yourself immersed in darkness. Fear not, for there is nothing to be afraid of here. In fact, this is a moment of celebration and triumph for you!
You have been chosen for an extraordinary journey, a journey of Fate. You are Fated, individuals whose remarkable deeds on their native planes have earned them a place in the glorious afterlife of Konran, the Capital of the Konra system. As you step into this realm, you become a person of purpose, a recipient of the gods' favor.
Though you may not remember your past lives, Konran is your reward—a place where devout followers of gods and their worlds can relish in peace and fulfillment. Your time here can last as long as you desire, and as Fated, your potential is boundless.
Konran is a world of wonders, where history is continuously written, and the possibilities are endless. It was crafted to nurture and embrace all creations of the gods, a safe haven for dreams to flourish. You, with your unique abilities and gifts, are destined to contribute to the greatness of this realm, whether today, tomorrow, or even generations from now.
Yet, tread with caution, for this world is both splendid and savage. Beyond the safety of the cities lies untamed flora and fauna, and dark silhouettes linger in the shadows of the forests. New cities rise with the guidance of The Churches and communities, exemplifying unity and trust among races and followers of various gods.
Konran's only true law is simple and profound:
Do not hunt, harm, mame or murder any sentient beings for pleasure, profit or ownership.

Although you are no longer bound by the deity of your native plane, you may invoke the powers of all the gods or pledge yourself directly to one of the churches. By declaring your allegiance, you gain access to the divine arts, revered teachers, welcoming halls, and comfortable lodgings in most cities.
However, should you choose not to declare, you will still find a warm place among the churches, and you'll have the freedom to call upon the gods' names in times of need for their blessings.
Here on the capital, no task is too grand, and no destiny is too insignificant. Every creature plays a vital role, for this is a world where destinies intertwine and purpose thrives.
Welcome to your future, your destiny, and your fate. Embrace the journey that lies ahead, for in this world of infinite possibilities, you are the architects of your own story.

When the Fated are deemed ready to embrace their destiny, they are given special badges that symbolize their role as agents of the gods. These badges act like Peace Officer or Divine Marshall badges, granting players more authority when interacting with townsfolk and providing some protection when traveling through the wilds. The badge projects a small protective dome against smaller wild animals, ensuring safer journeys for the Fated.
The badge is typically worn somewhere visible, and it is set in such a way that its "North" aligns with the symbol of the major god they serve among the Nyne Gods. The symbol on the badge is the Sigil of The Nyne, a potent sign that is branded into many things throughout Konran, signifying the deep connection between the gods and the world.
As "The Fated" embark on their adventures, their actions and choices become closely observed, as they have the potential to shape the course of kingdoms, civilizations, and the world itself. The significance of their destiny varies across cultures and regions, and they may be viewed as harbingers of great change or instruments of the gods' will. Regardless of interpretations, the existence of "The Fated" remains a powerful and integral aspect of Konran's belief systems and folklore.
With their divine badges and unique abilities, "The Fated" embrace their roles as agents of the gods, walking a path of destiny and bringing hope, fear, and fascination to the people of Konran. Their journey as heroes or saviors unfolds amidst the intricate tapestry of fate, and they play an instrumental role in the ongoing struggles and triumphs of the world they inhabit.
