House Gauntlet

One of four human baronies and the third in line to the human empire. House Gauntlet is the most militaristic of the baronies and continues the practice of the 'Blood Pact'. Having the largest contingent of half-orcs in the region leaves them very strong, and they stand alone against many of the remnants of the giants that used to reign havoc on the humans.

Structure

Lead by House Gauntlet, and the current err to the Barony, this military power continues to act as if war is imminent. The first to use the Blood Pact and the only humans to still practice the ritual on occasion. House Gauntlet divides its military into three legs, which all have Captains placed over them.
Open Fist is the defensive leg of the house, in charge of policing their towns, keeping roads safe, and watching from the towers of Ors. Clenched Fist is the offensive leg of the house, in charge of Cavalry and Infantry. They practice constantly and will often march to help other Baronies against enemies, just for practice. Many of the Clenched Gauntlet will end up in one of the Emperors legions due to exemplary service. Smashing Fist runs intelligence networks as far as they can achieve. They are the only leg that hires non humans or half-orcs. This group accomplishes great things behind the scenes that no one will ever know.

Assets

From a fully formed castle and many tower protected barony, a massive standing army can be raised. The infantry and cavalry division get regular training by running down gnolls and goblins. On occasion giants come down into the grass lands or hills, to which Gauntlet always responds. Their navy is little more that armored sailing vessels, but in a ground war there are little who could stand against them.
