Half-Elf

Born of a bond between Elf and Human, the elf gives up a portion of their life force to produce a child. These children blend the two worlds of man and elf. Neither fully accepted by either race, they ride a line between the two.
Half-Elves look for a greater acceptance, which often drives them to success. Finding themselves as adventurers, traveling the lands looking to aid others, seems to come up fairly regularly.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Sporting less defined features of an elf, their heritage is very evident.  Elves often refer to them as human, and humans often refer to them as elves.  This is often used in their relations with others, as they stand a middle ground.

Genetics and Reproduction

Half-Elves can pair with other Half-Elves, or humans.  With human partners, the result is always a full human.  If another elf decides to perform the ritual with a half-elf, the result is another half-elf.

Growth Rate & Stages

Half-Elves grow at the same rate as human children.  They reach adulthood around eighteen years of age, but often see almost two centuries of life.

Ecology and Habitats

Where ever you find both humans and elves, you will inevitably find a half-elf or two.
