King Reinhold
King Isadore Marfont Reinhold, has been the leader of Mightfalls for over 500 years. It is said that in his youth, he was granted eternal life at the hands of the Oracles of Trifall. During a great war in 1100 PT, Mightfalls was almost destroyed by the mighty giant tribe that lived to the north. Reinhold was only 20 years old when he lead the efforts to push the giant warlord, Gritas, from his home! With only a small army at his disposal, the young warrior made a cunning choice to ambush the giants in their own territory. He hid the soldiers high up on the cliffs of the mountainous area and created massive traps involving large boulders and rock slides. When Gritas brought his own troops through the pass, Reinhold commanded for the trap to be sprung! In one massive push, the king was able to eliminate a large portion of Gritas's army, giving them the upper hand in the war. Even still the war wagged on for several more years.
The legend says that Reinhold made his way to the temple, at the base of the Trifalls, after an especially tough and bloody battle. Reinhold brought no tribute for the gods, but instead offered his soul. In exchange he asked for the gods to grant him the power to defeat his enemies. The Oracles heard his call and granted Reinhold the Treasures of Trifall. From Iena, she offered a sword that could move mountains and whole forests with a single sweep. From Kriris, a shield that was said to envelop the user in a ball of water causing all attacks to slow and fail. Finally from Teella, a pair of boots that allowed the wielder to walk on air as if it were solid ground. With the treasures in hand, Reinhold charged back into battle, slaughtering the warlord, Gritas, violently with his own weapon. Reinhold claimed the land for his own and returned to the Oracles. When they heard of his victory, the king assumed he would have to give the Oracles what he promised, his soul. Instead the Oracles dubbed him the protector of lands, and granted him Eternal life!
If you ask Reinhold if the stories are true, he laughs and gives them a big slap on the shoulder! "I've fought thousands of battles in my lifetime! How could I possibly remember one?" he would say, never really addressing the question at hand. No matter if the stories are true, Reinhold has proved countless times how strong he truly is, while still maintaining his charming demeanor! Loved by all, the people of Dusi could not ask for a better leader and are proud to have him in their nation.
