The Mamont is a mammal species which can be found in the Northern Lands. They are trunked animals and close relatives to the elephants that can be found in warmer regions. These animals have been used for tribes of the Northern Moskova as sources of food, wool and as cargo animals for several centuries or even millenia and they live far away from the cities and usually populated areas.

Wolly mamonts are massive animals, just as their relatives from the warmer regions of the world. They have a hucky body which can weaight as much as 8 tons and grow up to 4 m of height at the shoulder. Their bodies are covered by two layers of wooly fur that provide them isolation from the outdoors extreme cold at winter. Their color can vary from creamy to chocolate tones. Their legs are robust and are finished in five fingers protected by a hull. Their head posseses big ears, although they aren't as beg as the ones of their cousins from warmer countries while their mouth features two big incisives that grow curved as canines. The most remarkable feature of their face is a large trunk used for getting food into their mouths as well as carrying varied items.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mamonts have an estrict herbivore diet which consists in herbs, lichen, pine leaves and cones. However, they can lick bones of dead animals in case they face a nutritional deficiency. Mamonts eat the largest amounts of food during the warm months in order to save enough energy reserves for facing the rough winter. They begin to eat their usual food at an age of four years old, as before that age the cubs are feed exclusively on breast milk.
