Structure

The Cult has two individuals at the very top - the Eye, head of the Priesthood, and the Hand, head of the Blood Guard, though the Eye has authority over the Hand due to his special relation with the Empyrean. The Priesthood is mainly devoted to upholding the religion of the Empyrean and also serves as a governing body, with the White Sect in particular being responsible for governance, along with healing and agriculture. Other branches of the Priesthood include the Oracles, who are born with the special gift of Aether-Sight and whose duties are to use said Sight to communicate with the Empyrean via visions and hallucinations, and the Sorcerers, who call upon the Empyrean and the energies of the Aether to perform supernatural feats in the real world. The Blood Guard is the Cult's military, and has two subdivisions besides the main force - the Order of Hunters, and the Aegis Division. The Hunters are seven elite warriors led by the Hand who act as a special ops unit, and the Aegis Division are highly skilled guards who protect high-ranking members of the Priesthood.

Cosmological Views

The Cult of the Golden Dawn worships the Empyrean, an entity that resides in an alternate dimension known as the Aether. This Aether is composed of multiple levels, from the endless depths of Abstraction up to the Firmament of Truth. The Empyrean is present in each level of the Aether, but its form varies from an amorphous, incomprehensible mass in Abstraction to a radiant, faceless, humanoid figure as it approaches the Firmament.
