Nocturne

Each elemental plane, much like the divine with their various gods, has one being who rules over all others that dwell there. Nocturne started His lot as the elemental Lord of the Shadowlands. Old as the planet itself His lust for power was unquenchable. He yearned for the title of God which He saw as greater than elemental Lord. After thousands of years of planning and plotting He was able to ascend to godhood by killing the God of Murder, Bhaal. Now He was both Lord over all the shadowlands and also had carved out a nice section of the abyss for Himself. But still this wasn't enough, He was not content sharing dominion over a plane with the various demon lords that already resided in the abyss so instead, He turned his eyes towards the material. Surely, if He could have that realm then all the other planes of existence would revolve finally about Him.

Appearance

Very few have seen Nocturne. His visage is enough to send the mind insane. Those who have and are still able to tell the tale speak of a crawling mass of black shadowy tendrils, long elongated arms with thin wretched claws at each end. Shadowy vines thick with thorns, razor sharp swirled about him. And most horrifying of all was his face. As if revelling in the irony of contrast a snow white skull with large gnarled twisted horns rested atop the chaotic mass that makes up his body. The skull itself of a creature not know to any of those that saw it, an alien of ancient evil and cold indifference.
