History

Northwestern lands, home of the Diabolique (Tieflings), Hobbit (Halflings), and the Coeurçais (Humans). The capital is sometimes contested between the Diabolique and Coeurçais, and will often change hands. Currently the area is experiencing it’s longest cycle of peace with Coeurçais in control. The capital Château de la Coupe was founded by the Coeurçais, and remained largely uncontested until the Diabolique first appeared in Coeurs. The Coeurçais spoke Coeurcian and kept the old gods of their ancestors. When they met the Diabolique they initially thought them to be cursed humans and shunned them. Forming small societies the Diabolique eventually built relationships with the Coeurçais and adopted from them their gods and customs, and learned the native language. When the four kingdoms were united at Stella Aureum all four kingdoms were under human control, as a result all four dominions officially adopted the common tongue and the religion of the Ancient Light. Most Diabolique continue to follow the old gods and speak Coeurcian in addition to their infernal tongue, many however have learned common and some have chosen to follow the Ancient Light.
