Adventure Log: Session 1 - A crime is ahand

General Summary

The party entered the briefing room. Karl'rok Red Moon Clan examined the wanted posters and saw one for The Face of Four Points, a horrible face-stealing serial killer, and another for The Wyrdwood Witch. Not much more was known about either of these.   Jacus Trom proceeded to brief the party on a previous suspected Red Hand robbery where 500g worth of diamonds were stolen from a jewellers near Eye Park, leaving no witnesses, and the owner knocked out in the store. The party don't know if this is a typical Red Hand crime or not due to the escalating nature of their crime spree. The party were also briefed on an incoming trade caravan from Praith far to the north, and that perhaps needing an increased guard presence in the city.   Private Knox rushed in and informed party of a new incident! There had been a murder near the market, with a possible kidnapping.Jacus Trom dispatched the party to go investigate immediately.   The party walked through the Great Gate Market and small square on the way to the scene of the crime. A black cat paused on a well where people were filling buckets of water and hissed at Grok Ak'tar and Karl'rok Red Moon Clan before dashing off into the distance.   The party finally arrived at the crime scene. They faced a halfling man, laying dead, face down in a pool of his own blood. Hilda and Grok Ak'tar inspected the body, while Kurtwood Grey and Locke Pickering looked around the area and the remains, as well as the empty pram that was also at the scene.   On the body, Locke Pickering found ID documents naming the corpse Merryweather Littlebottom and some documentation linking him to the The Merchant's Guild.   Karl'rok Red Moon Clan questioned the guards nearby regarding witnesses, and the circumstances of finding the body.   Kurtwood Grey found some drag marks leading away just as Karl'rok Red Moon Clan heard what he thought was a scream. The party immediately made haste down the alley to follow the tracks and head in the direction of the scream!   The tracks lead to a warehouse door. Karl'rok Red Moon Clan pulled the door open and stepped inside to find storage warehouse full of crates. Grok Ak'tar cast a spell on some pebbles, causing some dogs to start running towards the party and attack!   A fight quickly broke out. Kurtwood Grey scaled a ladder nearby to take the high ground, while Locke Pickering began sneaking into the room to the west. Hilda cast a spell on Karl'rok Red Moon Clan turning him into a giant man as he fought with the two dogs.   Grok Ak'tar filled the room with a fog cloud and then rushed forward to rescue the tied up Farmané Littlebottom at the far end of the room, only to discover more assailants waiting hidden nearby.     Grok Ak'tar was nearly struck down in one fell swoop as a fearsome warrior waded out of the fog to attack him from behind as he valiantly protected the tied up woman from the hanging crate above her head. Elsewhere, Karl'rok Red Moon Clan nearly repaid the favour, almost striking down one of the foes with a swing of his beastly axe. His foe threw a firestick to set the rope alight holding the swinging crate far above the tied woman.   Locke Pickering tried to jump on an enemy nearby, but fumbled and landed face down, only to suddenly find himself engaged in a deadly dance of melee, saved only by Hilda's magical armour.   TO BE CONTINUED...
