Lugsrr Enclaves

Structure

The Lugsrr Enclaves are a federation of multiple enclaves, which are all part of the large Lugsrr family. They are all allied through familial ties and feel complete loyalty for each other. However, each enclave remains locked in and rarely opens its deeply hidden doors.

Public Agenda

Each Lugsrr enclave's goal is to enrich itself and extend its mine network. They also keep an eye out for human settlements around which might sell foodstuffs cheaply or even be stolen from easily, sending out one or two envoyees (powerful soldiers) every month to scour the lands for such targets.

Assets

Since lusydaer do not care much for gold and shining gems, they have large stores of it and can well use it for buying their foodstuffs. They have very raffinated preservation methods, which can keep foods edible for half a year or more. Their soldiers have good magical capabilities and are generally versed in combat with picks, or similar weaponry.

History

When the elves reigned over Intralu, only the enclaves in Lugsrr managed to survive. They were the origin of the multiple dwarven clans in the Mruggenrykz, as they spread out to other mountains when the elves retreated, severing these new colonists from the family as they founded their own. The Lugsrr never changed from their origins, however, and stayed closed off and isolated.

Disbandment

Due to the Drubark orcish hordes overrunning the Mruggenrykz, food became very scarce for the Lugsrr Enclaves. As famine spread and orcs attacked, a fortress after another fell, until only empty mines remained.

Military

The lugsydaer have the Order of Moradin, which is an elite fighting and magical force with no actual religious boons. Their warpicks and naoraugh (blades attached to handles and wielded much like picks) have become a symbol of power for the surrounding human settlements.

Agriculture & Industry

The dwarves produce a variety of materials gained from ores, be they tools or trinkets. They use these finished goods partly for themselves and partly to buy food from human settlements when they don't steal it.

Mythology & Lore

The Lugsrr believe Moradin sent them away from Waterlond to found the new empire that would rule the world in his name, and that for this effect, they must survive until all others are gone.

Divine Origins

The Lugsrr, cut off from the larger empire, gave up most of their old dwarven pantheon to adopt Lugsmathal, their own changed version of Khazadism. This is due to the fact they were a too small group to venerate all gods of Khazadism, meaning they forgot all the gods and simply kept the name of the father, Moradin, as symbolic god they venerate - although the living Moradin gets no sign of their adoration and therefore never gifts lugsydaer.

Priesthood

The chief Lugsmathals are the members of the Order of Moradin. The Order is joined simply through military skill.
