Karoh (Planet)

Geography

Karoh consists of five distinct continental masses: The Gale, Myrrak, The Easterlands, Grihmskortch, and The Wastes. Each land mass has its own variety of geographic features.

Ecosystem Cycles

Seasons change on Karoh in approximate accordance with the orbit of Karoh around its sun, Lok. However, the actual astrophysics of the planet's tilt and rotation do not influence this seasonal change. Rather, the gods of the Four Seasons each in turn provide the magical shift across the entirety of the planet; the seasons do not change from hemisphere to hemisphere.

History

Karoh, the planet, was created after an eon-spanning conflict between Karoh, the God, and the eight other Gods of Balance. When Karoh absorbed them into Its heart, It was forced to divert all of its energy into preserving the conflicting Gods within. Consequently, Karoh lost consciousness, and the essences of The Nine resulted in the planet as it is known today.   Much of the history of Karoh as a planet is unknown to its inhabitants. Just as on Earth, the organisms on Karoh developed gradually over an immense amount of time - approximately 4 billion years. It wasn't until relatively recently that the Planar Maelstrom brought the fantastical creatures of other realms to the planet. From then on, a variety of factors - including magic, latent planar overlap, and interracial breeding - have influenced the change and evolution of living beings on the planet.
