Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Time Prism is probably 95% magic, but there are a few gears and springs and things inside that allow the bits and pieces to adjust your destination.

Manufacturing process

The Time Prism has three separate pieces, which all have to be put together to unlock the Prism's full potential. The first of these in the Prism itself. It, like all the other pieces is made of solid gold. The Prism is engraved with ancient runes all over. On the flat end of the relic is a small round indent, and on the slanted end is a small round button. The second piece of the relic is a rectangular block which presses down onto the top peak of the Prism. The block has two clock-like shapes jutting out from each side, and displays a number in Roman Numerals on the top surface of it. One of the clocks is marked with Roman Numerals I-X, and has a single clock hand. This represents each of the Roman months: Martius, Aprilis, Maius, Junius, Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November, and December. The second clock is marked with numerals I-XXX, representing the days of a month. The third clock-like section has numerals I-XII, and the single clock hand can flip backwards and forwards in addition to spinning all around. One side seems to be engraved with an image of the moon, while the other side of the clock hand appears to be engraved with an image of the sun. This is used to switch between the twelve night hours, and the twelve day hours, as they were considered in Ancient Rome. When you want to use the time prism to teleport through time, you can adjust of the "clocks," and the date and time will display on the top in the following order: YEAR-MONTH-DAY-HOUR.
