Resource Management and Encumbrance

Economic Context

The setting of the Time of the Takers is post-apocalyptic and managing resources is an intentional challenge for player characters. The strain on resources across Southern Balusdale had been a constant through the war, but the Crepitus Magnum has further destabilized the agricultural cycle and the economy directly. Players should not assume that all typical materials will be available everywhere they go within Central Shadowspeak. Players should remain vigilant and note where certain items or materials are prevalent and able to be acquired. Factions are an important source of items and materials as well, and should be explored for what they may offer.

Practical Encumbrance

While many campaigns ignore the issues of encumbrance and carrying weight, this campaign will not. To simplify and standardize the manner in which the players will carry their possessions and deal with encumbrance, this campaign will use the following rules and sheet:
