Plot Points
The use of Plot Points is an optional rule that will be utilized in the Time of the Takers campaign. It will take some time to get used to it, but players are encouraged to embrace the opportunity to have a direct impact on the plotline of the sessions. At the start of each session, two players will receive plot points to use during the session. The plot points can be used at any time during the session to add an interesting, but believable, element to the session. Either of the two players who start the session with the Plot Point can use the Plot Point first. Plot points should be used to expand the connection with the world of Kanadire, a connection between the players, or the connection of a player to his or her backstory. Examples of uses of plot points are:
Once the player spends the Plot Point, the other player with the Plot Point must give the element that was introduced to the session an interesting, but believable, twist.
The DM may award bonus experience points for exceptional use of the plot points.
- Introduction of an NPC
- Finding of a Secret Door
- Sudden Appearance of a Monster
