Firearms in Kanadire

Firearms in Kanadire are available, but only at the Renaissance level and only in particular circumstances.

The only known source of gunpowder is the Black Atolls in the Central Sea. The Atolls are known to be controlled, almost exclusively, by the Pirates of the Setting Sun. This control allows the Pirates to dominate the Central Sea area with exotic weaponry: pistols for their members a cannons for their ships. The Pirates are willing to sell small amounts of black powder to individuals, at an exorbitant rate, in the port city of Talus. Merchants aligned with the guild may also occasionally be permitted to purchase small amounts to resell to others, but these small boxes are marked up even further and often do not maintain their potency by the time they arrive at distant shops across Shadowspeak.

Firearms can be crafted during Downtime Activities using the "crafting" option. Players require a schematic in order to craft a firearm. Artificers do not require a schematic. Ammunition can be similarly crafted, but cannot be crafted without raw black powder.
