The highest rank in Ruclar is the Forgesmith. There is only ever a single Forgesmith at a time. The Forgesmith is the only being who will be directly contacted by a servant of Vulkaan and they act as advisors and overseers of other Children of the Forge.
The second highest rank is the Holy Smith. Holy Smiths typically run services to Vulkaan and supervise the work of lower-ranked Ruclarans. Holy Smiths are also the only individuals other than the Forgesmith who are capable of invoking the full power of Vulkaan.
The next highest rank is the Forge Tender. Forge Tenders act as assistants to Holy Smiths and help them run services and supervise the forges. Forge Tenders are also assigned additional duties by Holy Smiths to help maintain order in the church and forges. These duties can be anything from resource management to cleaning the forges. There are usually anywhere from 1-4 Forge Tenders for each Holy Smith.
Other Ruclarans fall into two categories: Apprentice Smiths and Magma Bearers. Apprentice smiths make up the majority of Ruclarans, attending services, working in Vulkaan's forges, and acting as missionaries. Magma Bearers wield Vulkaan's magic in combat as holy crusaders.
Ruclarans believe that true perfection and power can only be obtained by mastering the forge and creating items to grant said power. They desire to spread their knowledge of smithing and convert others in order to produce more items and more powerful items.
After the death and ascension of Vulkaan, many of his former companions prayed to him for aid when using a forge. Their worship granted him more power and, eventually, he was able to grant them the aid they wished for. From then on, Vulkaan's worshipers spread the knowledge and skills they had gained to other clans and founded the religion now known as Ruclar.
Teach the Ignorant. Spread your skills and knowledge to those who lack it.
Harness the Forge. Draw as much power as you can from the forge and imbue it into your creations.
Strike with the Strength of the Volcano. Whether it is in combat or in the forge, use all of your strength in each swing.
The Forgeheart acts as the leader and advisor of all the Children of the Forge. They are appointed by the previous Forgeheart who, when they near their death, task all of the Holy Smiths with creating an item of godly power. The Holy Smiths each present their creation and the Forgeheart will choose one of them as a successor. The Forgeheart is the only Ruclaran who will be contacted directly by the servants of Vulkaan and they can call upon Vulkaan himself for aid.
