On the Western Continent, the Dukana Empire has established a sovereign city named Iridan. This walled city is on Aguara land, and the Aguarian royalty are not pleased with the arrangement made 100 years ago. The Dukana interest is solely in securing the Blue Vollonite that runs in huge veins in the Aguarian mountains. This Magic crystal, Vollonite, is the life blood of every society and the Blue kind is rare in the Empire's home land. The political tensions run high between the Empire and Kingdom, exasperated by the ongoing "border-dispute" with the southern Commonwealth of Pryma.   The "Black Shadow" series of books follows competing forces who strive to secure the latest batch of Vollonite mined from the mountains, and even some who want to use it to secure a foothold in the Royal families that rule Aguara.
