Marius herded his ants like he did everyday: lazily from the back of his spider he equally lazily named Rex. The ants carried all manner of things in their mandibles, mushrooms, logs, wolves, a great assortment really. Through the trees they marched, back to Marius's father's farm, where they would enter a giant mound and sleep beneath the earth. Marius daydreamed of what delicious foods his mother had prepared that day. Marius heard something strange however, and at first he ignored it, but soon came the clicks. The sirens that promenade ants let out to know there was danger, that one of their own had been hurt. Marius jolted up just in time to see them: a pack of tour mantises, large as trees, each with an ant in it's fearsome forceps. Marius never stood a chance...

Geography

Les Ourais, or the Wormwood in Palmayan, is a forest in the far northern land of Auximale. Auximale is a hot and humid place, predominantly filled with swamps. Les Ourais is one of the few places that is not so hot, but that is merely because it is under a deep and dark canopy of trees. The humidity still finds its way in however. This dark and humid place is where mushrooms grow the size of chairs, ants the size of dogs, spiders the size of cows, and mantises the size of trees.
