Elekanska Steel Rifle

"Damn those Dust Devils. We came expecting very little resistance from the Sinsains. Our intelligence reported that they were still training their troops with swords and lances, those relics from the last Age. However when we crested one of the snow covered hills near Lake Welderheim, we were greeted with Sinsains along their battle lines aiming what looked like pulse rifles at us. Except these rifles did not fire magic, they fired metal. They tore through us as if we were a piece of parchment. A retreat was ordered and we had to leave our dead behind. Silvarnick will make them pay for this, mark my words on that."   -from the journal of an Imperial Infantryman during the start of the Border Wars

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Rounds are loaded into a magazine with a capacity of 15, which is inserted into the bottom of the rifle where the rounds are fed into the firing chamber. From there the firing pin strikes the round, igniting gunpowder located in the round.

Significance

It is the standard issue rifle for many of the armed nations outside of the Empire.   Upon noticing the design, the Heartland felt that the Selkan's stole their design for the M33, a secret that the Heartlandians want to keep from the rest of the world. The fact is however that the design came up simply from developments in the Selkan state, which is constantly fighting off tribal raiders who often attack the city. The Elekanska is considered a monumental breakthrough for the Selkan people.
