Stack
Gambling games, such as stack, are very common within taverns around Kaigan. In the evenings there is always at least one table with a couple of people betting on their luck.
Rules
The rules of stack are really simple, making it a game that everyone can play as long as they have a deck of cards. Because the rules are that easy, veteran players always try to invite new people into the game, eager to explain and get them to play as well.
First the bet is decided, agreed upon by everyone and it is places in the centre of the table. The bet is always minimum of five coins, but players can decide among themselves if this is more than five and if it's played with copper, silver or gold coins. It is possible to play with five tokens instead, but this is not nearly as common as playing for the small amount of five coppers.
After deciding the bet, every player shuffles their deck of cards and places it in a neat stack in front of them. Once everyone is done shuffling, each player takes the first five cards of the stack and places them in a neat row in front of the stack, visible for everyone. Every card has to be turned in order and it is not allowed to take five cards in one go and placing them in a row afterwards.
When every player has a row of five cards, the total value is counted up, the player with the highest value wins that round and takes one coin from the pot, placing the coin visible for all other players next to their stack. The first person to gather three coins wins the game and rest of the pot. The other players are allowed to keep the coins they gathered by winning previous rounds.
Variations
While most games around Kaigan are played with a deck of cards that consist of cards numbered one till twenty. In bars and ships around Rasi stack is often played with a set of dice instead as they are less likely to be blown away by the strong sea wind. Each set of dice consists of a d4, d6, d8, d10 and d12.
Rasvich has their own variation in which the standard twenty card deck has the addition of the queen and the joker. When someone pulls the queen, they will automatically win the round and when someone pulls the joker they will immediately loose. When multiple people have the queen, normal rules of highest value apply.
Tradition
In most cultures aroun Kaigan it is common for the winner of the pot to buy a new round of drinks for their companions before a new game starts

Sounds like a fun little game! I like that there is a dice variation for windy weather.
Thanks for the comment! Having a dice variant makes it also easier to run the it in-game if it ever would come up :)
