Personal history

In 2013, James began HRT and enrolled at Temple University to study journalism. A year later, he got top surgery. Junior year, he opted to move out of the dorms and into an apartment with his best friend, Steph. At some point during his college years, he was banned from his college's primary leftist circle for being too radical.
In Feb 2018, James went through his Chrysalis and awoke to his fae nature during a protest. He was picked up by an Arcadian Sidhe he refers to as Ryan ("His fae name was complicated as hell, but he told me I could call him Ryan, so"), who brought him to a Nocker to have proper court clothing made, since Ryan "would rather drop dead than take you into court looking like some redcap hoodlum". After hearing the story of where James got found, the Nocker quickly got attached.
His introduction to the court was fairly uneventful, as James was quickly taught to keep his mouth shut. Someone recognised him from a past life, at least in part, as a Gwydion, and for the next 6 months he was regularly dragged to the local freeholds, where he was taught about the history of House Gwydion, Kithain politics and the laws of the area, and how to be a proper leader. During this time, James kept most of his opinions to himself (originally as a result of Sovereign protocols being enforced on him), save for with the Nocker who'd created his court clothing, who he'd ended up growing close to. During his time there, he ran into Le Fway a few times, but he didn't know her well at all.
In early Aug 2018, James announced that he was planning to move and went through his Saining, being named Cenric ap Gwydion, followed by his Fior-Righ, as they wanted to get it before James left for somewhere with little to no House presence. James did well in the mental portions, stumbled through the physical portions ("Nobody taught me how to use a sword, how the hell am I supposed to do anything blindflolded?"), only to have the trials cut short during a the social portion as they finally heard the full extent of James' radical anarchist tendencies. His failure put him in a bad light with some of the higher ups, and when it began passing through the rumour mill, he decided he was going to start loudly being open and honest about his feelings, which led to him burning a lot of bridges.
In early Sept 2018, James moved to Coolville. Before he left Philly, he was given a compass treasure by the Nocker, who told him it was "so that one day you might actually know what home is." Except with more swearing. On the night he arrived, he met Orban; on his first proper night, he met everyone else in the to-be Scooby Gang, and the rest is history.
